Anthony Barnett is the Founder of openDemocracy and is a regular contributor to it. He is currently writing THE LURE OF GREATNESS: England's Brexit and America's Trump. 

A writer and activist, he was the first Co-ordinator of Charter 88, the influential movement for a democratic constitution, from 1988-1995.

Among his books are the classic Iron Britannia on the Falklands war and The Athenian Option on how to replace the House of Lords.
